Dorothy Redland - September Guest Artist

Dorothy Redland

I have always been in love with art and making my own has become an obsession with me .  I am particularly in love with the landscape, and growing up in the mountains of Wyoming I had lots of subject matter.

I started out painting watercolor and taught  that for years. Then suddenly I found oil and also pastel!  Actually I love all mediums with oil being my favorite!

I paint almost every day and still teach some.  I am 82 years old and have to take time for household and garden chores.  I feel God has given me this gift, which I find great joy in sharing and pray I can keep painting   for many more years!!
I  started painting late in life, as I was the mother of seven and a fullfledged ranch wife!!  We moved to Texas from Wyoming  in 1978.   I was priviledged to take some great workshops in San Antonio and later many workshops with the CA artists at the museum in Kerrville.  I feel these were valuable in my development!    Some of the artists were Jim Boren, Fritz White,John Moyers , Ken Riley and David Halback among many others.  My website is
